NZPPS may make monetary grants to students to assist them to attend and present an Oral paper or Poster at the annual Conference. Grants may be awarded, on a competitive basis, to students from whom research papers have been accepted for presentation. Typically, two awards will be given each year: one for an Oral presentation valued at up to $1,000 and one for a Poster presentation valued at up to $500.
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Relevance to plant protection
- Advancement of plant protection in New Zealand
- Importance of study demonstrated
- Financial need
- Quality of application
Applications need to provide a brief supporting statement from the applicant’s supervisor.
It is expected that the travel grant recipient will attend the full 3-day conference whether presenting an Oral or Poster presentation.
